Out of more than 100 entries around Florida, WiOptix is honored to be one of the "Sweet 16"semifinalists of CADE Prize for Innovation, the first annual competition sponsored by The Cade Museum for Innovation and Invention. The award will consist of $50,000 cash prize, one year in-kind support provided by the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce and one year of membership in the Gainesville Technology Enterprise Center (GTEC) incubator program with free office space in the GTEC facility. Four finalists will be chosen by May 31, 2010 and the winner will be announced after the final pitch on June 12, 2010 in front of a panel of nationally recognized judges.
The Cade Museum - located in Gainesville, Florida - is named for Dr. James Robert Cade, the physician, musician, researcher and inventor best known for leading the University of Florida team that created Gatorade. The mission of the Cade Museum is to promote a culture of creativity and innovation.
